Harmony // Sun Down - 16x20, Framed
16x20, 18x22x1.5” Framed // mixed media on canvas panel // 2019
Media: Tape + Acrylic + Painted paper + Found paper on canvas panel. Framed with glass.
As part of my LEFT RIGHT collection, this mixed media piece is constructed of base layers of tape to create a subtle relief to the work, followed by shapes cut out of acrylic painted paper and paper bag. The use of paper bag as collage element stems from my earliest work where I first used paper bags as a substrate, next step in the evolution was to tear the bags up into organic shapes to be used for mixed media paintings leading to this iteration using perfect circles cut in half. These shapes are representative of the left and right brain, eyes, and hands which are all duly needed for harmony and balance.
