The mini-series Rose + Malachite are part of my ongoing shape-shifting collection which are best described as abstract landscapes + naturescapes. These pieces were painted outdoors with Rose Quartz + Malachite crystals surrounding the easel for increasing positive energy, abundance & self-love. The colors of these stones were also the drivers for the color in the final works. The kiss of pink light glowing over the lush greens of nature was inspired by ivy + rose bushes in the backyard of my flat in Brooklyn, NY that I resided at for 7 years. This mixed media acrylic painting incorporates fluorescent oil stick + tape to add pops of color that catch in the light of day, similar to the details in natural crystals when held in the light in just the perfect way.
