“Art is all that cannot be said out loud but for which cannot go unspoken” - Briana Auel

This larger than life painting at almost 10 feet tall was a labor of love created using a painting technique new to the artist. Working with raw canvas, Briana used a high-flow additive to acrylic paint to create a dye that was applied to saturate the raw canvas while adding and brushing in layers of straight pigment to build depth and texture. A truly physically laborious process, Briana used an industrial garden sprayer to saturate the raw material with acrylic dye and massive brushes to push and spread the color requiring Briana to literally crawl on hand and knee up and down the piece. Fueled with emotion and desire to express, even the process exemplified the works final message.

Originally showcased at Sonder a pop-up immersive art exhibition in Minneapolis, MN in 2024 and later that year this work thereafter traveled to the 2024 Sanneh Foundation Gala as an art installation. Literally 1000’s of photos of the piece were taken by guest who wanted images of not only the work but themselves with the artwork.
