ABOUT BRIANA AUEL

A self taught artist, Briana found her way into fine art through her works painted on paper salvaged from NYC food delivery bags. Frightened by the blank white canvas, and the limits of perfectionism this substrate offered freedom to create without concern. She affectionately titled this collection, “take out trash.”

Briana’s large works on canvas are primarily acrylic incorporating mixed media collage elements of paper bag, painted paper, vintage ephemera with tactile oil stick, graphite and pastel. She has a fondness for gouache and water color and uses these mediums in her daily sketching and travel painting on paper.

In addition to her career as an artist + painter, Briana is a visually driven creative director with an entrepreneurial spirit who has been working independently for over 10+ years.

Striking out on her own has allowed Briana the inimitable opportunity to collaborate with a number of high-profile figures/personal clients in music, film, fashion and the action sports industry in tandem to her ongoing freelance/project based work as an art director within traditional and digital advertising/design agencies. A self taught artist and designer with a business school background mark Briana as a rare creative hybrid who has used these disciplines to curate a distinctively unique career path.

Her work spans interactive and traditional advertising, web design, packaging design, illustration, textile and apparel design, social media content development, conceptual brand building and tangible product development.
